The finest word to describe the city of Marseille is classic. This city in France has natural beauty and traditions here are valued. You should not miss out on the Jardin de la Colline Puget. This ancient garden dates back to the early nineteenth century. There is also a display of the statue done by Pierre Puget that was created in the early 1900s that you would see when you visit the garden. Château d’If is a famous fortress due to “The Count of Monte Cristo” by Alexandre Dumas. It was used as a state prison during the seventeenth century. This vast castle includes three towers and one drawbridge. Mémorial des Camps de la Mort is a Holocaust memorial. It displays transcripts of eyewitness versions from the concentration camps, a vast collection of Auschwitz photos and even urns holding soil and ashes from the various death and concentration camps. Campagne Pastré or Parc Montredon Pastré is a huge, historical park in Marseille. The property consists of a winding canal, two small lakes and hiking trails. One can also see the Ceramics Museum in this park that features almost 1,500 restored ceramic pieces.
